Yes. That is our core use case. The crew already on site walks the open trench with a guided smartphone video; sizeless returns a centimeter-accurate 3D point cloud, a DWG/DXF as-built plan of the pipe route and house entries, and a GIS-ready export. No separate surveying appointment, and nothing has to stay open waiting for one.
sizeless builds the as-built data layer for civil engineering and pipeline construction. From a short smartphone video recorded on site, our proprietary AI-assisted algorithms generate centimeter-accurate 3D point clouds, 2D CAD plans and BIM/GIS-ready outputs. This replaces separate surveying appointments with results available within hours, so the trench can be backfilled immediately and the revision documentation still holds up.
sizeless serves network operators, civil engineering and pipeline contractors, and utilities that have to document trenches and house connections before backfill, together with the engineers, surveyors and planners who depend on that as-built data downstream in GIS and CAD.

We offer high-touch, human support with dedicated customer success managers, onboarding assistance, and regular training sessions. Many of our customers provide ongoing feedback and actively shape the sizeless product roadmap.

sizeless delivers three main outputs:

  1. 3D Point Clouds, centimeter-accurate spatial data, an objective basis for earthwork volumes, dimensions and audit trails.
  2. 2D CAD As-Built Plans, norm-compliant drawings of the pipe route, couplings and house entries in standard formats (DWG, DXF, PDF).
  3. BIM + GIS-ready exports, structured models that drop into existing GIS, BIM and CAFM workflows (IFC, RVT).

In addition, we offer AI-based use cases, such as automatic detection of pipes and utilities, material detection, and condition assessment.

A 3D point cloud is a collection of millions of data points in three-dimensional space. Each point represents a precise location on a surface; together they form a digital twin of a trench, building or site. Point clouds are used in civil engineering, construction, and facility management for accurate measurements and spatial analysis.
A 2D plan is a scaled top-down drawing generated automatically from the 3D capture. For civil engineering work it documents the pipe route, couplings and house entries as a DWG/DXF as-built plan; for buildings it shows the layout including walls, doors and windows, with area calculations according to common standards such as DIN 277, SIA 416, or the international ISO 9836.
A BIM (Building Information Modeling) model is a digital representation of a building that includes both geometry and metadata — for example, materials, dimensions, or room types. It’s used to manage buildings efficiently throughout their lifecycle, from design to operation.
Accuracy depends on several factors during data capture, such as lighting, motion, and device handling. In practice, sizeless consistently achieves sub-centimeter accuracy. Current testing aims to reach 5 mm precision for specific use cases.
Pricing depends on project scope, data volume, and required deliverables. Please get in touch for an individualized offer tailored to your use case.
Our best results come from iPhone Pro and iPad Pro models. These devices combine photogrammetry and LiDAR sensors, enabling the highest level of accuracy. sizeless currently focuses on iOS, but Android support is part of our technical roadmap.
Photogrammetry is a computer vision technique that reconstructs 3D geometry from overlapping images. By analyzing multiple photos from different angles, sizeless computes depth and structure with high precision.
LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) measures distances by emitting laser pulses and capturing their reflections. In smartphones, LiDAR improves depth perception and accuracy, especially in low-light or textureless environments.
All data is processed and stored in Germany and Switzerland — fully GDPR-compliant.
Yes. sizeless is currently undergoing reviews for SOC 2 and DIN 27001 compliance to ensure enterprise-grade data security and integrity.

sizeless is built for professional applications in:

  • Trench and house-connection documentation for network operators
  • District heating, water, gas and fiber rollouts
  • Infrastructure and industrial sites
  • Facility management and asset documentation
  • Energy consulting and serial renovation
For the best accuracy and processing speed, we recommend splitting larger spaces into multiple captures. Each video should ideally be no longer than 7–8 minutes, which usually covers about 100 m² (around 3 GB of data). As a rule of thumb, a 1,000 m² building can be captured in about 10 videos. Ensure at least 2 meters of overlap between captures so our algorithms can align everything perfectly.
Uploads depend mostly on your internet connection — our system easily handles hundreds of gigabytes per day. Example:
  • With a 250 Mbit/s upload speed, transferring 30 GB of video data (roughly a 1,000 m² building capture) takes about 16–17 minutes.
  • Uploads run seamlessly in the background and automatically pause/resume if your connection drops.
Once your video is captured and uploaded, the sizeless Insight Engine™ takes over processing. Delivery time: To ensure maximum accuracy and detail, the high-fidelity 3D model and accurate floor plan are delivered in approx 48 hours (2 days) per 1,000 m² recorded.
sizeless documents the house connection the heat pump ties into, including pipe route, entry point and clearances, from the same smartphone capture your crew already records in the open trench. For the building side we also automate the heat load calculation, taking a highly manual process from hours down to about 15 minutes.
No. The same workflow covers district heating, water, gas and fiber house connections. On the building side, energy planners also use it for solar panels, wall boxes, energy storage units and HVAC systems.
